Joachim Frenk is professor of British literary and cultural studies at Saarland University, Germany, where he has organised an Irish semester and the Irland-Tage. A member of the German-Irish Society Saarland (GISS), he is also a host of the German branch of the Irish Itinerary. Among other topics, he has published on early modern literature and material culture, Shakespeare, British literary fairy-tales, Charles Dickens, Victorian melodrama, and on James Bond. He is currently interested in border studies and in posthumanism.
